Techniques Used
This technique focuses on the Atlas vertebrae, which are the top vertebrae on your spine. It is these vertebrae that join your head to the rest of your spine. They are a bit larger than the other vertebrae due to the fact that they support more weight, and play an important role in your spine and overall health and well-being.
If your Atlas vertebrae are out of alignment, you could develop the following conditions:
• Asthma
• Allergies
• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Fibromyalgia
• Herniated discs
• Sciatica
Dr. Johnson, our resident chiropractor, is trained and experienced in a technique that can resolve Atlas misalignment. The Atlas Orthogonal Technique uses tiny and subtle adjustments to the area to get the Atlas back into place. A probe is placed against the neck, which gives off small vibrations that are designed to shift the Atlas's position in a safe and effective way, getting it back into its proper place. Once it is back where it belongs, your head and neck balance is restored, muscle and nerve strain in the area are relieved, and conditions the misalignment caused are eliminated.
IQ Pro Adjuster
IQ is a company that produces leading products in the chiropractic field. Its Pro Adjuster product is a favorite with Dr. Johnson. He places the Pro Adjuster where you are feeling pain. The tool then thrusts at a frequency designed just for you, at a level that will improve motion according to your unique situation, condition, and needs. The frequency can even self-adjust to meet your needs as your motion ability improves. It is an efficient treatment that is easy on both you and your chiropractor, and there is no pain or discomfort associated with its use.
Palmer Package
The Palmer Package is actually several techniques that are taught together at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, which is considered the birthplace of chiropractic care. Dr. Johnson uses the Palmer Package on patients who he believes can benefit from it. The techniques in the package include:
• Diversified--This is an analysis of your spine to determine where it is misaligned, and then traditional chiropractic adjustments are made accordingly.
• Gonstead--This uses an x-ray of the spine and a small instrument that is heat-sensing to locate misaligned vertebrae. If the misalignments are in the lower back or pelvis, you'll lay on your side for an adjustment. If they are higher up, you'll kneel. These positions allow Dr. Thompson to re-align your spine without any twisting, rotating, turning, or other uncomfortable movements.
